Emergencies

In case of a major life threatening  medical emergency call 999.
You should do this if you or a relative or friend have:

  • Chest pain which you think is due to the heart
  • Sudden shortness of breath
  • Symptoms of a stroke (sudden inability to use your arm or leg, finding yourself unable to speak or finding your face droops to one side)

In these situations do not ask for a house call, phone 999 immediately. Waiting for a doctors visit wastes valuable time and may save your life and prevent disability.

If you or a relative suddenly become ill and you are unsure what to do please contact the surgery for advice telling reception you think the problem is urgent. You will be put through to a doctor as soon this is possible who will either visit or offer advice.
